Each and every traveler has been enchanted by the charm of this regal train saying that this train is incomparable to any royal train journeys in the world. It has won several accolades for its heritage beauty and has drawn the attention of the global media. The most fascinating is that this train uses the same carriages once used by the maharajas of India.
This luxury train in India is equipped with 14 fully air-conditioned deluxe coaches, 2 restaurants cum kitchen cars, one bar cum lounge and 4 service cars. The lavish interiors, beautiful paintings and comfortable furniture are some of the features of the train which represent the royal heritage. There are 4 twin-bedded cabins in every coach and on board facilities are like bath & shower facility, H/C water supply, channel music, intercom, interesting games for children & wall-to-wall carpeting.
You can communicate with anyone anywhere with the satellite phone service available abroad the train. There would be one attendant in each coach to address your problems. There are two well-maintained restaurants cum kitchen cars- the Maharaja and the Maharani- offering delectable and sumptuous cuisine. There is 24-hour bar where you can enjoy your drinks. The great gift shop has souvenirs products where you can buy souvenirs, handicrafts, and gift items. The shop is called the Bazaar. The lounge car is ideal for lounging.
Palace on Wheels train starts its regal journey on every Wednesday from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station from August to April. The train takes rest for three months from May to July.
