Golden Chariot History :
Golden Chariot is one of the finest luxury trains in India. Luxury trains in India go a long way. The Maharajas of yore had great fascination for luxury trains. Golden Chariot was a result of MOU signed between the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) and the Railways Ministry.
The train started its maiden journey from Yeshwanthpur station in Bangalore on March 10, 2008. Since its inauguration, this luxury train has made numerous remarkable journeys through the marvelous wonders of stone architecture. The name of the train is derived from the famous Stone Chariot at Hampi. It is the only luxury train running down South.
